Job Description

Data Protection Officer – India & APAC

The candidate must be a qualified lawyer, having Degree of Law (LL.B.) from a reputed university,

and should have a post qualification experience of at-least 10-12years with a specific focus on

data protection and cybersecurity in a reputed organisation preferably in IT/ITES sector. The

candidate should have expert knowledge of data privacy legislation including GDPR and local

applicable legislation in relation to data protection and cybersecurity, Legal and compliance

background with strong interest in IT and cybersecurity, Project management skills, strong

appetite to work in an international environment and a sense of pedagogy.

Requirements

The job description includes:
✓ Ensure implementation of the group data protection and legal cybersecurity strategy for the
India and more generally the APAC Region and ensure a coordinated and consistent
approach;
✓ Take a leading role in ensuring operations do take into account the group data protection
policies and guidelines;
✓ Report to top management on a regular basis on the data protection strategy to ensure they
are up to date in terms of existing risks and their related management;
✓ Advise and manage as needed data breach incidents and client audits in close coordination
with the core team for security incident, or advise Cybersecurity managers who manage data
breach incidents, in line with company policies and procedures;
✓ Orchestrate constant monitoring of the level of implementation of the DP Program
throughout the APAC region;
✓ Animate a community of DPO covering different geographies and maintain a supporting team
spirit amongst DPO’s in their region;
✓ Work closely with delivery organisation at Regional Level to improve a harmonised approach
to data protection matters in the region;
✓ Orchestrate a harmonized and proactive communication and training within the organisation
in relation to data protection matters and create initiatives and events to promote data
protection within the organisation;
✓ Work with Global DPO on strategy within the global data protection network, actively
participates to workstreams in a global data protection network led by the Group Data
Protection Officer;
✓ Represent company in different conferences and external events.
