Job Description
Software Engineering - Vice President
As an experienced Software Engineer, your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements.
· Design and build scalable and resilient technical solutions
• Drive the delivery of business value via change programs/projects within the Securities Processing technology group
• Develop a strong understanding of key functions of trade processing, Clearing, Settlement and Asset Servicing
• Partner with supporting tech leads to develop realistic and achievable project estimates
• Analysis and build within Control, Stability, Resiliency, Capacity & Performance areas.
• Robust delivery of code into the production environment with zero tolerance for post implementation issues
• Take part in decisions affecting long range organizational goals & strategic planning.
• Proactively look to develop, implement and further development best practices across the group.
• Contribute to quality improvement, code reviews, code/architecture standards, code reuse etc.
Skills required:
• 12+ years of experience in development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment
• 5+ years of hands on experience in architecting and building applications using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and other Big Data technologies
• Experience in Java and J2EE technologies like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Micro services, Distributed Caching and Rest
• 3+ years of experience leading successful teams and delivering projects using agile
• Should be able to manage and coach highly skillful team of Engineers
• Experience building object oriented and message based event driven applications for high volume and low latency applications.
• Strong experience of Object Oriented software design, design patterns and software architecture
• Strong background in SQL and RDBMs (e.g. Oracle, DB2) and performance testing
• Experience of publish-subscribe middleware such IBM MQ/Tibco/Kafka
• Thorough understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and Development methodologies including Agile
• Experience in migrating from RDBMS to HDFS
• Experience in working with Linux and UNIX platforms.
Additional skills:
• Ability to take on difficult and complex large scale problems and provide end to end solutions
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in business, operations, operate etc.
• Experience with heap analysis, profiling etc. using any of the tools
