Designation- Deputy Manager- New product development
The position is responsible for creating new and innovative sales strategies for the assigned product group, after analysing competitors, trends and Market, by co working in the field with the sales team to design sales and marketing strategy. Continuously doing SWOT analysis of the products, markets/competition, sales team, dealers and taking corrective actions for the product group assigned.
It will be focusing on revenue, sales forecasting, team planning & expansion, and making the product group a profit centre, by achieving sales targets and increasing the market share of the assigned product group.
The person will closely work with the Learning department for upgrading the sales team knowledge by involving the sales team in education and training programs to ensure sales team members are equipped with right knowledge and systems. Marshalling sales team to deliver the results by monitoring sales team & dealers. Critical analysis of sales team with respect to their KRAs, doing sales performance- variance analysis and take corrective actions and improve overall productivity of sales team, and yield per person, by formulating market strategy, sales promo activities, designing product schemes for trade.
This position will serve as a single point of contact for leadership inside the organization as the owner of sales for the assigned product group. This position builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both interdepartmental and external clients
The person is accountable for developing plans and strategies for developing the business of the assigned products and achieving the set sales targets, market share. .Monitoring sales team & dealers with respect to their field work /efforts, sales performance, market coverage. Designing robust reporting and feedback system for trade/projects for inputs to formulate product strategy. Pricing, sales promo budget & activities.
Preparing monthly/Quarterly sales forecast for the product, coordinating with PPC, sales team/dealers for product requirements
Responsible for overall Business in ensuring operational efficiency through efficient management of Product schemes, Discounts, and expanding Distribution width.
Facilitating and extending support for promotional activities providing the necessary resources to get the desired outcomes of the programs.
Manage the sales teams, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth of the products assigned.
Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcome and identify improvements where and when required. Also define and design incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
Work closely with the sales team/ dealers to guide team by effective demo in the field. Giving inputs to management on specific strategy on sales, pricing, product positioning, sales promo activity (generic and specific) and analysing competition, market and suggest the introduction of new products in the group with feasibility report, Expected ROI and formulating strategy for it.
The position is responsible for managing key customer relationships and key stake holders and also participates in closing strategic opportunities.
Responsible for Enhancing width and depth of distribution in markets, Identifying opportunities for market expansion, New Distributor Screening & appointment and New Developments as per the strategic plan

Experience in a managerial position in the Pipe or Building material industry, both in terms of market exposure and handling product portfolios.
Strong experience in project management and budgeting
Great understanding of business functions (Sales, Engineering of Product launch and nurturing growth.)
Demonstrable ability and proven track record in strategy-building and implementation and making products assigned a profit centre. Making a presentation to management on the product group assigned and it’s dynamics.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills and team Player
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
