Sr. Advisory Database Engineer

As a Sr. Advisory Database Engineer, you will be part of their Parcel Tracking services. You should be a go getter, ready to take up any task assigned and deliver proactively with high quality consistently meeting the deadlines. The job will involve writing and maintaining database programs to ensure they can handle the flow of traffic and the amount of data being stored in the database in a secure manner. You should be able to monitor, troubleshoot and debug the existing database scripts. Exposure to AWS, DevOps will be good to have. You are expected to be hands on and up to date with the latest technology stack.

The Job
• Develop and maintain complex databases that are highly scalable and manageable
• Support automated deployment and operation of Cloud instances in a high-availability environment
• Optimize and tune database schemas, stored procedures, triggers, and dynamic queries
• Build data pipelines for migrating data sources to Snowflake
• Design and extend data models for enterprise OLTP applications and data warehouses
• Create complex queries to derive intelligence from the data with Power BI and other tools
• Document technical designs and program logic
• Participate in functional and technical reviews
• Assist in identifying process improvements and application enhancements
• Support Production environments including long term and short term data archiving and purging strategies
• Handle multiple responsibilities with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
• Work effectively with a distributed team in multiple geographic locations and time zones
• Security first approach and perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure.

Must have
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL database application development
• Extensive experience with Power BI
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and database architectures
• Expert-level knowledge of Mongo DB and NoSQL Database architectures
• Expert-level knowledge of Snowflake
• Extensive experience writing T-SQL
• Knowledge of C#, Microsoft .NET and object-relational mapping (ORM) frameworks
• Understanding of the concepts and challenges of highly available cloud databases
• Excellent English communication skills (written, oral, listening)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to optimize queries and troubleshoot errors
• Experience in agile software development process
• Experience with Microsoft Development tools (Visual Studio, .NET Framework)

Qualification & work experience
• Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar.
• Applicable certifications around database engineering

Good to have
• Agile development methodologies including Scrum
• Experience with Microservices architectures
• Experience with cloud-based deployments (AWS)
• Experience working with large data sets
• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence) a plus
