Job Description
The role requires a delivery-focused, innovative, approachable, multi-tasker with a solid technical background and impeccable communication and influencing skills.
Ownership and end-to-end accountability of one or more key engineering workstreams across Data Services.
Technical product ownership for one of more products and support to service owner(s) in implementing services and improvements.
Technical partnership with the management team on defining and delivering data services strategy and roadmap.
Active coaching and technical mentorship to the team by means of pairing, workshops, formal and informal mentorships etc.
Identification and implementation of automation and self-service deliveries.
Internal and external engagement via formal and informal communication mediums. Creating and maintaining partnerships and positive visibility for the group and for self.
Requirements
Hands-on expertise in managing hybrid database platforms across on-prem (Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop) and various cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, OCI)
Experience is designing and supporting data services across different cloud vendors including data ingestion, ETL/ELT and data visualisation.
Good exposure to Operating systems, Networking, Storage etc.
Exposure to working in Agile teams, following devops practises, designing and utilising CI/CD pipelines, automated testing framework etc.
Expert level programming skills in one or more programming languages.
Expert level troubleshooting skills solving infrastructure issues while also collaborating with development, testing and support teams.
