Impact

We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to build, optimize and maintain conceptual and logical database models. For this role, you should know how to analyze system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. Hands-on experience with RDBMS and NoSQL database is also required. Ideally, you are familiar with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R.)

The Job

• Develop database solutions 
• Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications 
• Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions 
• Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts 
• Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements 
• Optimize new and current database systems 
• Define security and backup procedures 
• Coordinate with the Data Science/Analytics team to identify future needs and requirements.
• Facilitate communication and understanding between business users and data team
• Take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments
• Ensures timely completion of tasks in line with project objectives

Required Qualifications & Skills 

This role requires a talented self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and the following skills:
Must-haves
• Proven work experience as a Database Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role.
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing logical and physical data models in any RDBMS, preferably SQL.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing logical and physical data models in NOSQL Database, preferably MongoDB.
• Prior proven experience migrating data from any RDBMS (preferably SQL) and NOSQL Database (preferably MongoDB/Atlas).
• Experience in basic shell scripting.

Good to Have

• Proven experience on AWS tech stack, Aurora MySQL, Dynamo db.
• Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements 
• Experience working in Hive.
• Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques 
• Good to have: Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R) 
• Proven analytical skills 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills 
• Great attention to detail and Organizational skills 
• Experience, knowledge, and/or training with the Agile/Scrum methodology
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team

Qualification & work experience

• UG - B.Tech/B.E. OR PG – M.S./M.Tech from REC or any other reputed institute
• 5+ years in managing any RDBMS (preferably SQL) and NOSQL Database
• 2+ year of industry experience on migrating data from any RDBMS (preferably SQL) and NOSQL Database (preferably MongoDB/Atlas)
