Job Description

Provision of development support India hrs and including 24 x 7 support (on-call)
• To provide consultancy to project delivery and other Technology Services teams when required
• Hands-on engineering development to provide solutions and services in support of the roadmap
• Work with the Delivery areas to assist in the design for new Business solutions.
• To be the technical catalyst for outstanding service delivery within the team.
• Work with BAU teams in Technology Services to develop tools in order to improve management,
monitoring and reporting.
• To assist with training/coaching team members and exposing them to new technologies.
• Cultivate and foster relationships with other team and departments within organisation.
• Monitor issues and provide management reports on incidents and problem management
• Provide out of hours support for the AIS Messaging Infrastructure
• Ensure all activities are compliant with security and regulatory requirements
• Work alongside the platform teams to provide cost effective scheduling solutions and encourage best
practices to prevent over allocation and wastage due to lack of usage
• Service the project and “RTB” IBM MQ and IBM WMB / IIB demands across all business areas
• Assist in the transition to a fully supported “in life” platform for IBM MQ / WMB / IIB infrastructure
• Facilitate the migration to a rationalised, more cost effective infrastructure configuration going forward
• IBM MQ / WMB / IIB System Management and administration, such as performance, logging, backup,
recovery and health checking
• Assist in the provision of DR / BCP support
• Support the conformance to standard operational processes within the team
• Promoting “best of breed” in regard operational practice and processes
• Understand capacity model and flag potential short comings proactively
• Highlight risks/issues invoking escalation procedures, where necessary
• Analysis and design of a solution to business requirements
• Producing documentation and adherence to standards, processes and procedures
• Assisting/training/coaching team members and exposing them to new technologies
• Liaison with business stakeholders, architecture, support and other development teams
• Provide assistance to resolve operational issues, as required

Requirements

Proven working knowledge of IBM MQ and IBM Message Broker / Integration Bus development,
implementation, configuration and administration with versions minimum of MQ v7.x,v8.x, WMB v7.x, v9.x
• Working knowledge of Message Queue monitoring – knowledge of BMC QPASA (BMTM)
• Knowledge of message routing hubs and message transformation
• Technical hands-on skills in IBM WMB v7 / IIB v9 messaging solution development
• Knowledge of WMB Propriety coding language EQSL.
• MQ, IIB Code review knowledge and provide consultancy on the code quality and improvements.
• Extensive production and IT support experience
• Problem determination and fault finding
• Process improvement and Automation driven – Always to work towards permanent fixes for all problems.
• UNIX platform knowledge – navigation and administration (AIX / LINUX)
• Ideally possessing IBM certification for IBM MQ / WMB / IIB
• Good verbal and written English communication
• Self-motivated, self-starter, team-player
• Flexible attitude - be able to thrive in an ever-changing environment
• Good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers
Ability to think laterally - an enquiring mind with problem-solving capabilities

• Experience/knowledge of the file transfer protocols. Good to have familiarity with any such tool in market
e.g. MQFTE, Linoma GoAnywhere etc.
• Knowledge of any scripting, preferably Shell Scripting or Perl.
• Good to have experience with Java.
• Knowledge of XML
• Awareness about SWIFTNET, SWIFT FIN, SWIFT Alliance Gateway, SWIFT Net Accord
• Experience of working with structured support processes and procedures.
• Understanding of Investment Management, pricing and back-office operations
• Experience working on applications with tight business deadlines
• Experience working on B2B applications
