• Create digital surface models, capture design intent from Design Sketches, Concept themes, and scan data.
• Creating surfaces from concept development stage to final release of class A.
• Translating the essence and feel of design sketches into 3D surfaces.
• Should provide alternative proposals and capture design Intent creatively.
• Deliver production quality surfaces and ensures surface meet Standards in quality and time
• Working in sync with engineering teams, understanding engineering constraints and working with them to deliver quality class A-surfaces maintaining the design intent.
• Closely work with Team to support workload planning /estimation and documentation of the project records Research, benchmark and make contextual inquiries of the competitor’s vehicles for all aspects of Interior and Exterior.
• Participate and contribute in weekly call and use effective escalation for any program related issues
• Coordinate & work collaboratively with design and engineering teams of local and global regions
• Identifying and proposing solutions for potential feasibility issues constraining delivery of design intent.
• Participating in design model and quality checks and working towards ironing out issues to produce high quality final surfaces.

Skills:

• Proven ability to develop visible Class 'A' surface from design sketches, verbal direction or point cloud data.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Alias.
• Ability to understand design intent and develop surface data in accordance to the same.
Should have strong creative and idea development skills.
• Working knowledge of product development processes and basic automotive design fundamentals.
• Prior experience and understanding of working in a design team.
• Should have 1-2 yrs. of relevant experience in a design position.
