Job Description

Role & Responsibilities
o Implement global quality policies, best practices, quality vision and strategy to ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
o Develop quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management System (including: IATF16949, ISO 19001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001).
o Ensure PPAP, APQP, Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding them across the business processes.
o Contribute to new business initiatives and projects. Review and continuously improve the Quality Systems. Implement Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.
o Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
o Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all requirements of customer audits.
o Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns and act as a point of contact for providing solutions
o In conjunction with the Supplier Quality Assurance function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials on the production area quality
o Lead regular inspection meetings with department Managers and HODs to establish an action plan for improving build quality
o Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
o Conduct risk assessments and root cause analysis of processes and tasks and how to resolve the problem
o Report against agreed quality metrics on a monthly basis
o Actively lead the reduction of customer PPMs (Parts Per Million), Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap and waste
o Assist in continuous improvement and ensure that customers’ requirements are met and problems are prevented or resolved effectively and economically
o Work to prevent non-conformities, customer complaints, rework alongside Manufacturing/ Engineering and Operations to develop corrective and preventive actions within required time line.
o Resolving complaints from key customers within timeline and engaging with them to maintain healthy relations.
o Work towards winning customer awards for Quality aspects.

Requirements

o Leading a team of quality staff. Strong project management and people skills and ability to work in cross functional teams.
o Need experience in successfully handling customer relations and managing budgets. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans and other automotive industry quality requirements.
o Proficiency in analytical problem solving using 5 Why’s, root cause/Effect Diagrams, 8D, etc.
o Experience in maintaining quality system compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 19001, 14001, 45001. Training/ experience in internal auditing.
o Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. SPC, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma desirable.
o Working experience on ERP software and proficiency in Excel

Additional Information

o B.E. Mechanical Engineer or equivalent in a technical field such as Quality or Engineering.
o Minimum of 7-8 years QA management experience in an automotive industry.
o Good IT knowledge will be preferred
o Work experience in Japanese Auto Ancillary companies / customers will be of added advantage
