Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing systems and understand the business process and data required to support the same.
• Co-ordinate with global business and technology teams to convey all necessary information related to data to ensure all validation rules are identified for quality delivery, helps in resolving any data issues for upstream/downstream and be able to get the gap/missing data fixed at source
• Proactive analysis of data for all possible failures/anomalies/trends/common pattern scenarios before technical build out to get capture all data gaps within solution rather waiting for feedback post prod delivery
• Practitioner experience on analysing existing complex data landscape, simplify & create standard definitions for different subject areas aligning with industry standards
• Skills to cross collaborate across global stakeholders to understand the business process & data to support the same
• Be the functional champion for the identified business areas - build deep expertise on FIL business processes & domain expertise, lookout for industry patterns and have the ability to sense what’s coming up in the near future.
• Serve as mentor/coach to other team members and build wider knowledge around the data involved
• Lead all data quality and data analysis initiatives for structured, semi-structured and un-structured data, with quick turn around for new product development
• Takes ownership of features deployed in beta/prod for any data issues, user queries and pre/post-implementation support to the systems and business teams

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications Required

• About 7-10 years experience with most of it in Financial Services and experience in Investment Management front office domain covering research, portfolio management, trading, risk, attribution, analytics etc.
• B. Tech / B.E. or MBA (Finance) preferred or CFA preferred
• Thorough understanding of different asset classes – Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives. Experience of working in Fixed Income - Portfolio Management, Research applications or Trading programmes
• Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development) & Production Support processes
• Strong expertise in SQL writing capabilities
• Expert in using MS Office products like Visio and Excel
• Good competence with some financial database such as Bloomberg or FactSet
• Data Preparation & Migration (Python, SQL, Adv. Excel)
• Data Analysis and Visualization (Power BI, Python, Adv. Excel)
• Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment

Nice To Have Skills Include

• Experience of working with 3rd party market data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters etc.
• Experience of working in data platforms
• Understanding of quantitative analysis
• Any financial certification
• Experience of Data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, will be a plus
